It may happen (only once in your lifetime hopefully!) that you find yourself in a situation you are not able to handle.

Let’s have an example: you have just applied for residence permit renewal and you are holding your postal office receipt. You are then invited to attend an important conference in Spain, but, as you should know, you cannot travel to EU contries with the only receipt.
